2022 Senate Bill 1166

House Roll Call 443: Passed

To revise child placement provisions in the foster care and adoption services law requiring that if a child is removed from his or her home, the agency in charge must within 30 days identify, locate, notify, and consult with relatives, with the goal of seeking to place the child with a fit and appropriate relative who meets the standards. The bill would require a child be placed with an adult who meets the standards and is related to the child within the fifth degree by blood, marriage, or adoption.
