To establish that community college students who also work part time for the school are not enrolled in the state-run school employee pension system, and so colleges do not need to make pension fund contributions on their behalf. The bill would not be retroactive, and according a recent state audit 16 of 28 community colleges have not made pension contributions for part time employees who are “primarily students”.
