To increase the annual report fee required of all domestic and foreign non-profit corporations registered in Michigan from $10 to $20. The bill would impose approximately $565,000 in additional costs on non-profit corporations, which would replace general fund support for basic operations at the Department of Consumer and Industry Services and the Bureau of Workers’ and Unemployment Compensation. This bill is one of many authorizing fee increases totaling some $125.5 million which Gov. Jennifer Granholm proposed to close a gap between state spending and expected revenue in the Fiscal Year 2003-2004 budget.
