2021 House Bill 4207

Senate Roll Call 403: Passed

To revise the conditions for getting a state barber license, which under current law requires a person to complete an 1,800 hour program at a licensed barber college. The bill would establish a new license category called a “barber apprentice,” which would also require 1,800 hours, and would impose record keeping and disclosure requirements on a barber shop that employs an apprentice. A shop could require an apprentice to pay approximately the same amount that an 1,800 hour barber college program charges.
