Whereas, A strong education system is crucial to the longevity and strength of our democratic society; and
Whereas, The United States and the state of Michigan have achieved notable advancements in education thanks to the dedicated and hard working teachers in Michigan; and
Whereas, Teachers dedicate their time, skills, and passion to supporting Michigan’s students and serve as the foundation of our education system; and
Whereas, Quality education provided by committed educators is essential to developing future leaders; and
Whereas, Teachers devote time beyond the classroom to prepare lessons, assess student progress, and contribute to their school communities; and
Whereas, Educators across Michigan continuously adapt to evolving educational needs with strength, innovation, and dedication; and
Whereas, Skilled and caring teachers help build character, support dreams, and encourage students to become engaged and ambitious citizens; and
Whereas, Parents, students, and public officials should support and recognize the lasting contributions of teachers in Michigan communities; and
Whereas, Teacher Appreciation Week is nationally recognized and, in 2026, is observed May 4–8; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That the members of this legislative body declare May 4–8, 2026, as Teacher Appreciation Week in the state of Michigan. We encourage all residents to recognize and thank teachers for their dedication to students, schools, and communities.
