Whereas, A convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein operated a human trafficking ring that spanned decades and reached all corners of the Earth. It is estimated that Epstein and his associates victimized over one thousand women and girls; and
Whereas, The United States Department of Justice has released approximately 3.5 million pages of documents in response to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which was passed by Congress with bipartisan support in November 2025. These documents offer an insight into the heinous behaviors of Jeffrey Epstein and his large network of powerful figures. However, despite evidence of criminality, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, when he was Deputy Attorney General, has publicly stated that there will be no further federal prosecutions related to Epstein and his contacts; and
Whereas, The individuals implicated by the Epstein files span the globe. Other countries, including but not limited to Norway, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Turkey, Slovakia, and the United Kingdom, have already begun investigations into their citizens who were mentioned in the Epstein files. Other governments have also already filed charges against individuals associated with Epstein, which includes a member of the British royal family and former government officials; and
Whereas, It is important to determine and differentiate who were victims, who were active participants in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes, and who were merely mentioned in the Epstein files in order to build a full and complete understanding of Epstein’s criminal enterprise. A full investigation would ensure that the Department of Justice, who hurriedly released improperly redacted documents, thereby revealing the full names of at least 43 victims, could effectively protect victims and reveal conspirators; and
Whereas, Every person mentioned in the Epstein files must be investigated, regardless of political affiliation. Jeffrey Epstein’s associates reportedly come from all sides of the political spectrum, and no individual should be exempt from an investigation because of their political affiliation. Any perpetrator or participant in these heinous crimes must be held accountable by the Department of Justice; and
Whereas, The United States must grant justice to the victims and survivors of Epstein and his associates. They have a right to see that justice is served and that the Department of Justice protects the people, not just the wealthy and politically influential; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we call on the United States Department of Justice to conduct a full investigation of any person, regardless of political affiliation, mentioned in the Epstein files; and be it further
Resolved, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to the Acting Attorney General of the United States.
