A bill to encourage increased housing supply and affordability in this state for certain income-qualified households; to provide certain grants, loans, and other assistance; to provide for the creation and operation of certain programs; to support certain zoning changes and the construction or rehabilitation of certain residential property; to provide for the creation and administration of certain funds and the distribution of money from those funds; to provide for certain appropriations; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state governmental officers and entities; and to allow the utilization of administrative procedures.
House Bills 5660 and 5661 establish a multi-faceted, well-funded set of programs to increase affordable housing supply in Michigan through grants, loans, zoning reforms, and employer partnerships, with strong compliance and accountability measures.
