A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled “Revised judicature act of 1961,” by amending section 2950a (MCL 600.2950a), as amended by 2018 PA 146, and by adding sections 2950d and 2950p.
Senate Bills 611-612 strengthen Michigan’s personal protection order system by eliminating filing fees for petitioners, clarifying service and enforcement procedures, requiring law enforcement assistance at no cost, and creating a dedicated fund to support implementation, thereby expanding access to justice and reinforcing protections for victims of domestic violence, stalking, and sexual assault.
