A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled “The state school aid act of 1979,” by amending section 167 (MCL 388.1767), as amended by 2021 PA 3.
House Bills 5347 through 5353 collectively strengthen Michigan’s school immunization framework by tightening reporting and compliance requirements, standardizing and regulating medical and nonmedical exemptions, enhancing data privacy and public transparency, expanding oversight and expert involvement in immunization policy, requiring insurer coverage of vaccines, and aligning school and public health systems to reduce vaccine-preventable diseases, contingent on the enactment of related legislation.
