House Roll Call 203 on
2011 Senate Bill 383: Retain state film subsidy program

To empower the state government film office to continue to grant film producer subsidies, but smaller ones than under the previous unlimited film incentive program. With the elimination of the Michigan Business Tax the film subsidy program would disappear, but instead it will be replaced next year by $25 million appropriated by the Legislature to hand out to film producers. The House added unrelated provisions extending certain "brownfield" and related corporate and developer tax breaks and subsidies that are also scheduled to end with the repeal of the Michigan Business Tax.
