A bill to regulate the manufacturing, selling, offering for sale, or distributing for sale of products that contain intentionally added PFAS; to require certain products that contain intentionally added PFAS to contain a label; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities; to authorize the promulgation of rules; and to prescribe civil sanctions and provide remedies.
Senate Bill No. 816 establishes notification and labeling requirements for products containing intentionally added PFAS in Michigan, with phased implementation, exemptions, and escalating civil penalties to enhance consumer awareness and environmental protection.
