A bill to require certain data centers to be subject to community benefit agreements; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities; and to provide for the promulgation of rules.
Requires new data centers in Michigan to secure and implement community benefit agreements addressing local hiring, resource use, and community investment, with approvals from both local governments and the state commission, before construction or operation can proceed. Part of a legislative package that includes HB 6135-6142.
