A bill to provide for language assistance for elections; to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities; to create the language access advisory council; and to provide for remedies.
House Bills 5969, 5970, 5971 and 5972 create a robust Michigan State Voting Rights Act to prevent and remedy discriminatory voting practices, enhance protections for minority and disabled voters, establish a dedicated assistance fund, and ensure equitable access to the electoral process through comprehensive legal and administrative measures.
