A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled “The revised school code,” (MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1280h.
Senate Bill No. 378 requires the Michigan Department of Education to annually assign letter grades to public schools based on student proficiency, growth, English learner progress, graduation rates, and performance relative to similar schools, starting in the 2025-2026 school year.
