Law enforcement: other; use of force policies; require law enforcement agencies to create.

A bill to require law enforcement agencies to adopt certain policies on the use of force by law enforcement officers; to require law enforcement agencies to update the use of force policies; and to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities.

Senate Fiscal Agency Analysis

Senate Bill 333 would enact a new law to do the following: -- Require each law enforcement agency to adopt a use of force policy and prescribe requirements of the policy, beginning six months after the bill's effective date.-- Require each law enforcement agency to review and update its use of force policy to comply with the bill and case law precedent.-- Require each law enforcement agency to make its use of force policy publicly available.
