A bill to establish standards and practices relating to certain online services, products, and features that are accessed by known minors; to prohibit certain acts and practices related to certain online services, products, and features; to prescribe civil sanctions; to create a fund; and to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities.
House Bill No. 5357 establishes stringent privacy and safety standards for online services accessed by minors in Michigan, requiring high default protections, restricting data use and advertising, and creating an enforcement fund, with the law taking effect 18 months after enactment.
