2011 Senate Bill 354

Revise sex offender “student safety zone” restriction

Introduced in the Senate

May 3, 2011

Introduced by Sen. Rick Jones (R-24)

To revise the law that prohibits a person who is on the state sex offender registry from living in a “student safety zone” (within 1000 feet of a school). The bill would narrow an exemption for individuals living in such “zone” before prohibition became law in 2006, so that it only applies if the person has lived continuously in the zone and not committed any more sex crimes.
