2019 House Bill 4801

Ban social media site viewpoint discrimination

Introduced in the House

June 26, 2019

Introduced by Rep. John Reilly (R-46)

To prohibit social media sites from engaging in viewpoint discrimination by limiting or restricting access or the services available to a particular user, except for “good faith” restrictions on content that a service regards as harassment, or as lewd, obscene, etc. The bill would define this as an unfair trade act under the state's consumer protection act.
