2014 House Bill 5674

Expand electricity “net metering” mandate

Introduced in the House

June 12, 2014

Introduced by Rep. Rob VerHeulen (R-74)

To expand a “net metering” mandate imposed on utilities, which requires them to purchase electricity from customers who generate small amounts, so it would also apply to so-called “community renewable energy gardens,” in which a number of people subscribe to a larger solar or wind facility that sells electricity to the utility and distributes the proceeds to subscribers.
