A bill to provide for the establishment of history museum authorities; to provide for the powers and duties of a history museum authority; to authorize the levy and collection of a property tax by a history museum authority; and to provide for the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities.
Senate Bills 1139, 1140 and 1141 allows Michigan counties to create history museum authorities with the power to levy a voter-approved property tax to fund museum services, subject to strict financial oversight and public accountability.
