A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled "Revised judicature act of 1961," by amending section 4031 (MCL 600.4031) and by adding sections 4001a, 4032, and 4033.
Revises Michigan's garnishment laws by defining garnishable earnings, expanding exemptions for public benefits and tax credits, and establishing new limits on the percentage of wages that can be garnished.
