A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled “The revised school code,” by amending sections 4 and 5 (MCL 380.4 and 380.5), section 4 as amended by 2011 PA 232 and section 5 as amended by 2019 PA 38, and by adding sections 562, 564, 565, 566, 567, 568, 569, and 1701b.
Creates a new statewide 'Learner-First District' in Michigan to expand parental choice and educational innovation through flexible, mastery-based, and technology-driven public education options, while ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance with state standards.
