A bill to amend 2003 PA 225, entitled “An act to designate January 30 of each year as Fred Korematsu Day, March 31 of each year as Cesar E. Chavez Day, July 14 of each year as President Gerald R. Ford Day, and July 30 of each year as Henry Ford Day,” by amending the title and section 1 (MCL 435.301), the title as amended by 2023 PA 32.
Renames Cesar E. Chavez Day as Farm Workers Day in Michigan, shifting the focus from honoring Chavez individually to recognizing the collective contributions and sacrifices of farm workers, particularly those represented by the United Farm Workers of America.
