A bill to preempt local units of government from enacting local ordinances regulating certain energy emissions and imposing any fee, charge, or tax based on emissions and the climate or other energy-related metrics.
Prohibits Michigan local governments from imposing or enforcing taxes or regulations based on energy emissions or climate-related metrics, nullifies any existing conflicting local measures, and centralizes such regulatory authority at the state or federal level.
