A bill to amend 1846 RS 14, entitled “Of county officers,” (MCL 45.318 to 45.324) by adding section 118a.
House Bills 5795 and 5796 require candidates for county office in Michigan to disclose felony convictions (excluding expunged, set aside, or pardoned offenses) via affidavit and to promptly update this disclosure if convicted after filing, thereby increasing transparency in local elections.
