A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled “The revised school code,” (MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1531k.
House Bill No. 5646 requires all Michigan teacher preparation and alternative teaching programs, as well as their instructors, to implement LETRS training and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the science of reading by September 30, 2027, as a condition for program approval.
