A bill to amend 1949 PA 300, entitled “Michigan vehicle code,” by amending section 307 (MCL 257.307), as amended by 2023 PA 260.
House Bills 5474–5477 strengthen Michigan’s reentry framework by requiring the Department of Corrections and Secretary of State to assist eligible prisoners in obtaining state identification and driver licenses before or immediately after release, establishing reentry support funding, updating inclusive statutory language, and enhancing privacy, documentation, and communication-access protections to support successful reintegration into the community.
