A bill to amend 1953 PA 232, entitled “Corrections code of 1953,” by amending section 34c (MCL 791.234c), as added by 2012 PA 24.
House Bills 5474–5477 strengthen Michigan’s reentry framework by requiring the Department of Corrections and Secretary of State to assist eligible prisoners in obtaining state identification and driver licenses before or immediately after release, establishing reentry support funding, updating inclusive statutory language, and enhancing privacy, documentation, and communication-access protections to support successful reintegration into the community.
