A bill to require hospitals, human milk banks, and human milk banking companies to comply with certain standards; to provide for education and support of certain breastfeeding individuals; to prescribe the duties of certain state departments and agencies; and to prescribe penalties.
Senate Bills 724–726 create a comprehensive framework in Michigan to regulate human milk banks, expand medical assistance coverage for medically necessary donor milk, and strengthen penalties for violations involving adulterated or unsafe human milk to protect infant health and public safety.
