Senate Bills 617-620 authorize and regulate the implementation of secure, privacy-protected mobile driver’s licenses and state IDs in Michigan by updating identification laws, establishing digital credential systems alongside physical ones, creating dedicated funding and implementation timelines, and imposing strict privacy, consent, and data-access safeguards to ensure accessibility, security, and protection of personal information.
