Senate Bills 608 and 609 dismantle Michigan’s industrial hemp regulatory framework by repealing most provisions governing hemp cultivation effective February 1, 2026, and abolishing the Industrial Hemp Fund on October 1, 2026, with remaining funds transferred to the Agriculture Licensing and Inspection Fees Fund to consolidate state agricultural financing.
