A bill to amend 2000 PA 489, entitled “Michigan trust fund act,” by amending the title and section 2 (MCL 12.252), the title as amended by 2005 PA 232 and section 2 as amended by 2023 PA 174.
Senate Bills 559-561 create and fund a new Revenue Sharing Trust Fund to provide stable, formula-based financial support for Michigan’s local governments starting October 1, 2025, by establishing the fund, expanding the Michigan Trust Fund Act to include it, and redirecting 8.6% of the state’s 4% sales tax revenue to the fund, with all measures contingent on related legislation.
