A bill to amend 1976 PA 331, entitled “Michigan consumer protection act,” (MCL 445.901 to 445.922) by adding section 3j.
Senate Bills 535-536 and House Bills 4826–4827 of 2025 amend the Michigan Consumer Protection Act to require clear disclosures and accessible cancellation options for consumer contracts with automatic renewal provisions, thereby enhancing transparency and consumer rights while exempting certain regulated industries, and to clarify and strengthen prohibitions against deceptive business practices, modernize statutory language, and enhance consumer protections, with both measures contingent on the passage of related legislation.
