A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled “The revised school code,” (MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1812a; and to repeal acts and parts of acts.
House Bills 5310-5312 collectively establish a statewide open enrollment system beginning July 1, 2026, requiring districts to accept nonresident students based on available seats, regulating tuition and prohibiting most enrollment discrimination, and imposing limits on families who provide false residency information while ensuring students are not removed mid-year, all contingent on the passage of related legislation.
