A bill to amend 1979 PA 94, entitled “The state school aid act of 1979,” by amending sections 3, 6, 20, 105, 105c, and 111 (MCL 388.1603, 388.1606, 388.1620, 388.1705, 388.1705c, and 388.1711), sections 3, 6, 20, and 111 as amended by 2025 PA 15 and sections 105 and 105c as amended by 2021 PA 48, and by adding section 105d.
House Bills 5310-5312 collectively establish a statewide open enrollment system beginning July 1, 2026, requiring districts to accept nonresident students based on available seats, regulating tuition and prohibiting most enrollment discrimination, and imposing limits on families who provide false residency information while ensuring students are not removed mid-year, all contingent on the passage of related legislation.
