A bill to amend 1965 PA 314, entitled “Public employee retirement system investment act,” by amending section 13 (MCL 38.1133), as amended by 2018 PA 676.
House Bill No. 5237 amends Michigan's public employee retirement system investment law to require fiduciaries to base all investment and proxy voting decisions solely on financial considerations, increases transparency and public oversight, and restricts the use of pension assets for non-financial objectives.
