A bill to prohibit a local government from entering into a contract with a lobbyist; and to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state and local governmental officers and entities.
House Bill No. 5192 prohibits Michigan local governments from contracting with registered lobbyists for lobbying purposes, except for existing contracts and government employees, thereby restricting the use of public funds for external lobbying activities.
