House Bills 5157–5158 strengthen Michigan’s criminal penalties by creating a new life-sentence felony for delivering dangerous controlled substances causing serious injury and by expanding sentencing guidelines to cover violent crimes involving pregnant individuals and harm to embryos or fetuses, contingent on related legislation.
