A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled “Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act,” by amending section 4 (MCL 125.1504), as amended by 2012 PA 504.
House Bill No. 5056 updates Michigan’s construction code process by basing it on the International Residential Code, creating a diverse advisory committee for code revisions, and instituting transparent, regular review and public participation requirements to ensure modern, safe, and equitable building standards.
