A bill to amend 1976 PA 451, entitled “The revised school code,” (MCL 380.1 to 380.1852) by adding section 1280h.
House Bill No. 4970 requires the Michigan Department of Education to assign annual letter grades to public schools based on student proficiency, growth, English learner progress, graduation rates, and comparative academic performance, starting in the 2026-2027 school year.
