A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled “Natural resources and environmental protection act,” by amending sections 503 and 2132 (MCL 324.503 and 324.2132), section 503 as amended by 2018 PA 240 and section 2132 as amended by 2022 PA 2.
House Bill No. 4851 amends Michigan’s natural resources law to require the state to declare and dispose of surplus land when state-managed holdings exceed 50% in a local jurisdiction, establishes new procedures for public auction and local government oversight, and updates strategic planning and reporting requirements for state land management.
