A bill to amend 1974 PA 258, entitled “Mental health code,” by amending section 100a (MCL 330.1100a), as amended by 2023 PA 118.
House Bill No. 4776 amends the Michigan Mental Health Code to update definitions and notably narrows the ban on conversion therapy by removing gender identity change efforts from its scope, allowing such practices while maintaining the prohibition on attempts to change sexual orientation.
