A bill to amend 2000 PA 321, entitled “Recreational authorities act,” by amending sections 5, 7, 9, 11, and 21 (MCL 123.1135, 123.1137, 123.1139, 123.1141, and 123.1151), sections 5 and 21 as amended by 2003 PA 135 and section 11 as amended by 2016 PA 173, and by adding section 10.
House Bill No. 4694 expands the powers and purposes of Michigan recreational authorities to include public forests and natural resources areas, allows single-municipality authorities, and introduces new governance, funding, and asset management provisions to enhance local stewardship of recreational and natural resources.
