A bill to amend 1927 PA 175, entitled “The code of criminal procedure,” by amending section 39 of chapter XVII (MCL 777.39), as amended by 2006 PA 548.
House Bills 4645 through 4651 amends Michigan's criminal procedure code to include companion animals in the scoring of aggravated physical abuse offenses, assigning specific points for egregious conduct against them and expanding legal protections for animals.
