An act to amend 2002 PA 713, entitled “An act to provide for the broadcast of information concerning a child abduction on radio and television stations; and to prescribe the content of the information broadcast,” by amending the title and sections 1, 2, and 5 (MCL 28.761, 28.762, and 28.765).
House Bills 4517 and 4518 expand the Child Abduction Broadcast Act (Amber Alert) to include missing children, allows the use of social media for broadcasts, and provides liability immunity for accurate broadcasts, contingent on the passage of a related bill.
