2021 Senate Bill 266

Suspend school accountability measures in the 2020-21 school year

Introduced in the Senate

March 18, 2021

Introduced by Sen. Wayne Schmidt (R-37)

To require school districts to prepare and send to each parent or guardian an assessment of their child’s actual academic progress in the 2020-21 school year versus what it likely would have been without the coronavirus epidemic school closures and lockdowns. The bill would also require every public school teacher to prepare a written “learning recovery plan” for each child in his or her class.
