2021 Senate Bill 263

State give public schools reports on academic performance in epidemic

Introduced in the Senate

March 18, 2021

Introduced by Sen. Lana Theis (R-22)

To require the state education department’s “Center for Educational Performance and Information” to give school districts a report within 90 days with data that shows how their students did on state tests, with “links between pupils and teachers broken down to classroom level,” and classroom level data on pupil performance for the immediately preceding school year. The bill also adds “and we mean it” type language to current Michigan school code requirements for school districts to administer assessment tests to students and report the results.
