2021 Senate Bill 112

Waive penalties on business for epidemic-related delinquent summer taxes, let state pay instead

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 9, 2021

Introduced by Sen. Winnie Brinks (D-29)

To waive delinquent property tax penalties and interest imposed on businesses that were specifically subject to state coronavirus lockdowns, including restaurants, taverns, exercise facilities, “recreation facilities or places of public amusement,” theaters, entertainment venues and more. A business would have to apply to the local government for the relief, which could then get reimbursed by the state for the foregone interest and penalty.
