2021 House Bill 5106

Repeal public school employee health insurance cost limits

Introduced in the House

June 23, 2021

Introduced by Rep. Mari Manoogian (D-40)

To repeal the requirements established in a 2011 school health insurance reform law that limited the cost public schools may pay for employee health insurance benefits. That law capped the amount schools could contribute to employee health insurance costs at 80%. This bill requires schools to pay “at least” 90% of employee health insurance benefit expenses, broadens the definition of covered expenses.
