2020 House Bill 5728

Let state buy back liquor from licensees locked-down by epidemic

Introduced in the House

April 24, 2020

Introduced by Rep. Brandt Iden (R-61)

To permit the state Liquor Control Commission to buy back unopened bottles of liquor it previously sold to various types of licensees that have been closed by coronavirus epidemic “lockdown” orders. Under Michigan’s extraordinarily detailed and extensive “liquor control” regulatory regime the LCC is the exclusive state wholesaler of “spirituous liquor”.
